Animal Management (Cats and Dogs) Act 2008 (Qld)
The Animal Management (Cats and Dogs) Act 2008 makes dog registration a statewide obligation (s 44) and requires a dog kept away from its registered address to bear the identification prescribed by the local government (s 45). The exact tag rule therefore sits in your council’s local law — most councils require their registration tag whenever the dog is away from home.
